Visit Sultanahmet district built by Emperor Justinian in the early 6th century AD; designed by Anthemius of Tralles and Isodore of Miletus, Hagia Sophia is considered one of the wonders of world architecture. This structure, which was converted into a mosque in 1453, is currently used as a museum. Inside, there are many mosaics along with the striking portraits of many emperors and empresses, as well as the Statue of the Virgin Mary and Child. After this, we will visit the Sultanahmet Mosque, which takes its name from the elegant tiles decorating its interior. Built in the early 17th century by Sultan Ahmet I and designed by a student of Sinan, the greatest architect of the Ottoman period, this mosque is the only imperial mosque with six minarets. later visit the Hippodrome, the stadium of ancient Byzantium: This place hosted 100,000 spectators and exhibited objects of the empire in every corner. This palace has many unique jewelry collections, including the Spoonmaker's Diamond, one of the largest diamonds in the world. We will also visit the Imperial Armory, where Ottoman weapons used for centuries are exhibited. Hagia Irene, is one of the few churches in Istanbul that has not been converted into a mosque, as the Church of the Holy Peace was used as armory until the 19th century. Hagia Irene is said to have the distinction of being the first church built in Byzantium, as it stood on the site of a pre-Christian temple transformed as the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. We will then visit Paşabağ (Zelve) Open Air Museum, where you can discover churches, chapels, and monasteries dating from the 10th to the 13th centuries AD, carved into fairy chimneys and adorned with frescoes on their walls. We will see fairy-chimneys, local farms, pigeon houses and rock-hewn cave chapels. Your guide will give information about the history and the unique formations of Cappadocia during the hike. at the end of the hike, we will have a quick stop at the picturesque old Cavusin Cave Village. As the capital of Pamphylia, Perge boasts impressive historical sites such as the Roman Baths, the Agora, Colonnaded Street, Nympharium, and the stadium, all of which we will visit. Lunch at Local Restaurant Afterwards, we will depart for the Aspendos Ancient Theatre. This incredibly well- preserved ancient theatre was built in the 2nd century A.D., it has a capacity of 15,000 people and it's still being used for festivals and music concerts. We will have a lunch break at a restaurant on a nearby river before departing for Side, one of the best classical ancient cities in Turkey. Side was a port city that served as the largest slave market in this region. During Roman times much construction took place in Side including a large theatre, Roman Baths, and the Temple of Apollo. Guests will have 1 hour of free time to enjoy the sea and the city. On the way back, we will stop at the Manavgat Waterfall before returning to Antalya and transferring you back to your hotel. Its ruins are adjacent to modern Pamukkale. Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its hot springs that have been used as a spa since the 2nd Century B.C.E. Lunch at Local Restaurant Many people came to soothe their ailments here, with some even retiring or dying in Hierapolis. Some of the highlights of the tour include the large necropolis filled with sarcophagi, the main street with the gates and latrines, the cathedral, the theater, and St. Philip's tomb. Today, we will drive to Kuşadası & visit House of Mother Mary: This place is discovered by Lazarist priests after a German nun described the house and the mountain according to her visions as it is the last residence of Virgin Mary. This shrine is a pilgrimage center for Catholics, being cared by Lazarist Fathers. Lazarist Fathers are still celebrating mass prayer every day and later, we will drive to Ephesus Ancient City. Ephesus was one of the most important harbor cities in antique world and it is mentioned in the book of Revelations as one of the seven churches. Also, Celsus Library and theater in Ephesus are the other highlights. In Ephesus we will see Celcus Library, Temple of Hadrian, the fountain of Trajan and the Theater.
